CREATIONS By BERNINA-MADEIRA
In order to make the Bernina-Madeira workshop more dynamic, the concept has been changed this year.
The workshop will be more convivial this year, decorated with numerous works such as textile pictures, curtains, creations (flowers, broaches, etc.) made exclusively from Madeira products and visitors will be encouraged to give free rein to their imagination on the theme of textile creativity in the widest sense: strictly speaking this workshop is not a course and it is more a question of providing participants with the materials they need for plastic and textile creative expression.
To that end, several models of BERNINA machines will be available and visitors will be invited to try them and use them in their creations.
The purpose of the workshop has also changed: it is no longer a question of a course lasting one and a half hours, with visitors stopping for 15 minutes and then embarking on their creative adventure. No need to worry about any lack of knowledge, since they will be helped by the workshop coordinator who will encourage them to touch the materials, create and experiment.
Visitors can take their creations away with them; if they have not finished them they will be able to continue at home.
To that end, the complete range of Madeira threads will be available in unlimited quantities (cotton, wool, metallic, transparent, etc.), stabilizers (in particular Avalon which is the basis of this workshop) and other creative materials such as pieces of fabric, will be available free of charge to visitors for use in their creations.
The materials used in creation include among others Avalon, a water-soluble plastic. This material, which is used in numerous books (“Les Hydrosolubles” of Martine Jardin and “Piqué libre” of Fanny Violet), is the basis of a very recreational, easy and creative technique.
